The glycemic index/glycemic load charts show significant differences between, say, the russet potatoes from Canada and those from the United States, or between corn from New Zealand and corn from the United States). Once you have completed the three days, break the fast slowly by eating the fruit or vegetable of the juice that you have been drinking. So, if you chose orange juice, eat an orange. After the first meal you can gradually introduce different varieties of fruit or vegetables, before progressing to salad-type meals over a period of days. It will then be relatively easy to alter your previous eating habits, including many more fruit and vegetables. Create and follow a sensible eating plan for yourself to keep your body on track. |

Lycopene in Guava Fights Prostate and Breast Cancers
Guava has a higher concentration of the carotenoid lycopene than any other fruit or vegetable. Tomatoes are the main way Americans get their lycopene, but guavas are an even better source. (A cup of guava has 17 percent more lycopene than an equivalent amount of tomatoes.) Why do we care? Consider this: In laboratory experiments, lycopene has been found to provide more protection against free radicals than any other member of the entire carotenoid family (and that includes beta-carotene!).

If you find cold vegetable juices unpalatable there are many juices which can be served hot as soups (but don't boil away the goodness from them). An equal blend of vegetables grown above and below the ground makes a delicious and healthy mix to include in your diet. |

The sweeter-tasting the fruit or vegetable, the higher the concentration of minerals.32 Generally speaking, mass-produced vegetables sold in grocery stores are grown in mineral deficient soils.
